More great stuff! I especially liked the breakdown of the etymology of “if you can’t explain it simply, you don’t understand it well enough.” Well covered and a true aha moment for me.
It’s been a while since I dug into / thought about systems thinking, and I’m curious if you have explored DESIGN THINKING, which I’ve been studying at Stanford at the d.school and has been popularized by IDEO and great books by Tim Brown, Sarah Stein Greenberg, David Kelly, and others.
There are many parallels here between the two. I’m curious if you have encountered it or thought about it in the context of systems thinking.
Thanks! Yes design thinking is going to be a future topic and is very much in the systems mindset. I come from the discipline of Operations Research which is immersed in design thinking. I'd also say it's a systems concept because so few people do it! 😂
I'm also developing a twist to design thinking which is the natural evolution I refer to as futures thinking. It's the design, with a long eye on the future, specifically around the emergence and integration of upcoming technologies.

Working with Michael and CJ on this project is a privilege.
Peter, appreciate the opportunity to learn from you as well! It's been an interesting journey so far and I'm excited to see where this goes... ;)
This was a lot of fun to put together and I'm super excited about where this is headed.
The actual Einstein quote and the Feynman response are priceless!
Yeah they're fantastic!

The Eisenhower quote is excellent.
I think this is a very important topic. It complements your other excellent posts.
Thanks! It’s one of my foundational posts now.
My job is experimental particle physics and astrophysics
That’s fun!
This is really great! I make my living by systems thinking exactly as described!
That’s where I do my best work too.
